In recent years, the proportion of industrial textile in the whole textile is going up, the fabric-reinforced composite grows rapidly. To improve the mechanics performance of composite, we often use high strength, high modulus fiber, eg. glass fiber etc. This paper mainly discusses the knitting process of glass fiber on the computerized flat knitting machine and technique analysis, the compounding process of the knitted fabric with resin, the performance testing and curve analyzing of the composite.(1) The knitting process of the glass fiber on the computerized flat knitting machine and the technique analysis.This part discusses the knitting principle of glass fiber plain fabric, space fabric, weft-inlaid fabric and tube fabric on the computerized flat knitting machine, lists the technological sheet, analyzes the influence of yarn tension, machine taking down force, pulling down depth and machine-head speed in detail.The glass fiber space fabric, tube fabric and semi-sphere fabric are formed on the base of plain structure; weft-inlaid fabric is formed on the base of rib structure. Generally speaking, CD If the knitting can smoothly carry on, we should reduce the yarn tension as far as possible , or else, the yarn tension in the knitting area may increase rapidly which influences the knitting process. (2) The taking down force varies in according to the fabric structure. In general, it is good that the taking down force is small. (3) Loop pulling down depth has something to do with the yarn kind, thickness, gauge and fabric structure , the Np of each structure is listed on the technological sheet. @ When the knitting normally carry on, machine-head speed shouldn' t too fast, for plain fabric and interval fabric , it is 0. 7m/s or so ; for liner-weft fabric, 0.5 m/s, and 0. 6m/s for semi-sphere fabric. (5) Through many experiments, we find that the knitting of semi-sphere fabric is the most difficult, plain fabric is moredifficult than rib fabric.(2) The compounding process of the glass fiber weft-knitted fabric with resin.This part discusses the compounding process of the weft-knitted fabric with resin, in this subject we use hand-paste process, the advantages are flexible design and lower cost, but product quality is instable, precision is lower.(3) The performance testing and the curve analyzing of the glass fiber weft-knitted fabric composite.In the mechanic performance testing of glass fiber weft-knitted fabric composite, we carry through pulling test and bending test by calculating the experiment data and analyzing the curve. So we can draw conclusions : (1)To a certain composite, the bending strength is higher than pulling strength, vertical strength horizontal strength. (2)To different composite, the strength of space fabric composite is higher than that of weft-inlaid fabric composite and plain fabric composite, which has close relation to the structure, performance, layers of reinforced material and resin performance. Certainly, we can knit the more rational knitting structure to meet the needs of different industries.I believe that we can design the glass fiber weft-knitted composite more flexibly which can meet a certain performance, and promote the development of weft-knitted composite.
