Preparation technology of polymer PDA by one-stage addition of monomers and stage-addition of active monomers was improved in this paper.Using industrial cationic monomer solution P4 or its simply refined solution as monomer ,and Na4EDTA as a chelate agent for metal ions ,adopting redox complex of ammonium persulfate and sodium hydrogen sulfite as an initiator,polymerization technologies of the PDA with cationicity 10% and 20% were investigated by one-stage addition of monomers and initiator.Through a series of preliminary experiments and orthonormal experiments of technological parameters,the intrinsic viscosity of the PDA product with cationicity 10% and 20% reached 15.50 dL g-1 and 10.50 dL g-1, respectively ,by use of simply refined industrial monomer P4 as a monomer under optimum conditions. Using industrial cationic monomer solution P4 as a monomer and Na4EDTA as a chelate agent for metal ions,adopting redox complex of ammonium persulfate and N,N,N',N'-Tetramethyl-ethylenediamine as an initiator,polymerization technology of the PDA with cationicity 30% was investigated by one-stage addition of initiator and stage-addition of active monomers.Through a series of preliminary experiments and orthonormal experiments of technological parameters,the intrinsic viscosity and cationic convertion rate of the PDA product with cationicity 30% reached 7.50 dL-g'1 and 55% under optimum condition, respectively.
