As everyone knows, assembly is an important link of period of life of products, is the main course that the function of products is realized. The better assembly-design and assembly performance is of important meanings to guarantee the product quality and dependability, to reduce the cost of products and raise the competitiveness. With the development at full speed of the information technology and manufacture informationization, the development and the practical application of virtual assembly technology will be the inevitable trend. Assembly process of hollow-shaft system is simulated and discussed by Virtual Assembly in the subject.First of all, The virtual assembly theory and principle and outline are expatiated from following several aspects: the concept of virtual assembly, the researching conditions in china and abroad, assembly model foundation and the planning of assembly sequences and assembly path.Secondly, three-dimensional modeling software Pro/ENGENEER is introduced simply, through studying thoroughly the function of Pro/Replace, Pro/Family Table, Pro/Relation and Pro/Program, the advantage and deficiency in the assembly are founded. The foundation method of model is analyzed and Family Tables are set up about the primary model, therefore can replace the part in the course of assembly, thus avoid interference and collision, improve the performance of assembly; assembly path planning is brought forward in the SKELETON module, condition of interference and collision is enacted in the RELATION module, condition of interference and collision is alarmed to resolve it by human-computer interaction.At last, assembly sequences of reamer-adjusted machine and principal axis system are educed through simulation; interference of principal axis system is educed by module analysis, and its rationality is analyzed. Combining a subject look forward into the next work, it lays the foundations of analysis for assembly and performance-appraised of whole machine.
