The network technique has already been the main technical current in modern information now. Along with technical application in Internet, the concept of the network has gradually deeped into the each profession and field, but the performance in manufacturing industry shows particularly outstanding. More and more shortages have appeared in the Client/Server(C/S) architecture commonly used in the past. The emergence and development in Web, promotes its application in the enterprise quickly. The numerical control is a technique which integrates various science and techniques, such as manufacturing science, computer science, automatic control theories and monitoring and controlling etc. As a key supplying technique of advanced manufacturing mode, how to connect NC with Web, and to provide remote NC service for the business has an important and realistic meaning.The dissertation puts emphasizes on the key technique of implementation about remote NC service system based on Web. The main contents includes:1) The key technology in the realization of the remote NC service system based on Web is studied. The three-layer browser/server structural model is promoted and realized.2) By making use of HTML and the language of VBScript, the platform of the system is established, and the corresponding functional modular has been developed.3) On the Windows operating system and IIS platform, by using ASP, ADO and SQL, the long-range inquiry service of the NC machining parameters has been realized.4) By making use of VBScript and the technique of ActiveX, the on-line editing and checking service for NC program has been realized.5) The three-dimensional animation of the NC processing is discussed. By using VRML and Java interface, the emulation of the cutting tool movement has been implemented.Based on the techniques mentioned above, the platform of the remote NC service system based on Web is developed. It has been issued and verified in the local area network. Customers can query NC processing parameters through the browser of the Web, and can check NC program. The platform also provides the functions of the common network service such as on-line message exchanging. These applications of the system have proved that the methods this paper used are practical and feasible, and these have accumulated experience for the research in the future.
