Color register control system is an important part of packing and printing machine, which takes charge of exact positioning control of every color, and plays an important part in the printing quality. With the development of motor control technology, computer technology and information technology, mechanical-shaft-electroniclizing technology, electronic shaft driving technology (also called shaftless driving technology) appears. With shaftless driving technology applied to the color register control system, mechanical components are replaced and simplified, and manufacture costs are decreased. Shaftless driving technology will be the developing direction of the color register control in the future.The article introduces a kind of color register control system, which realizes shaftless driving with Ethernet. The local color register unit is emphatically researched, which adopts servo system controlled by motion controller. The PID algorithms are used in the local color register control, the local color register control algorithms are brought forward and simulated. The article analyses the adoption of Ethernet in the system, and thinks the system possesses capacities of openness, agility and extendability because of the use of Ethernet. The delay of the Ethernet communication is tested, the real-time capacity of Ethernet is reviewed, and the performance of the Ethernet real-time capacity is got.The article firstly introduces the origin of the project, the significance of research, current related technology status and main research contents, introduces in details the collective blue print of the system, then emphatically discusses how to use Ethernet in the industrial field, discusses the design of the hardware and software system according to the blue print, then demonstrates and simulates the control algorithm, Finally, gives the summing-up result report of the system, proves it's feasibility, and comes out the content that needing mending.
