Cashmere fiber is one of the most luxury specialty animal fiber taken from the fine, soft undercoat or underlayer of goat hair. According to statistics data, the annual production of cashmere fiber around the world is about 10, 000 tons, only 50-80 grams dehaired cashmere can be obtained from one goat, that means the total cashmere collected from 5 goats per year can make only one common cashmere sweater, so it's very rare.More importantly, the different properties of cashmere products is superior to that of other pure wool products or other fiber products which is well known to the consumers, especially the various properties of cashmere fiber from Eerduosi region, the elongation, length, fineness, whiteness and luster of cashmere fiber from this area exceed those from other regions, it is regarded by foreign customers the best cashmere in China and is called "diamond fiber".Cashmere and wool are both keratin fiber, but their structure is different. Cashmere fiber is much thinner than wool fiber and the cuticle scales of cashmere fiber is denser and smoother than that of wool fiber. Because the dyeing property is determined by the fiber structure, the cashmere fiber properties, including pHysical properties and chemical properties, are different from those of wool fiber in a large degree, particularly the dyeing property. Although all the dyestuff for dyeing wool are applicable to cashmere dyeing and they are put into use without deeply researching the specific dyeing property regarding to cashmere fiber structure, this condition both affects the dyeing quality of cashmere products (low colorfastness, severely damage to the fiber, poor hand feeling etc.) and makes much waste (energy consumption). Considering all the above factors, we introduced internationally advanced online dyeing machine with automatic touch control system equipped with spectropHotometer. Researching cashmere dyeing process and improving cashmere products quality are of great significance for rationally take advantage of rare resourcesBy applying internationally advanced online dyeing machine to stimulate massproduction process in order to display accurately, promptly and dynamically the whole dyeing process, and meanwhile detect different fiber dyeing index ( dyeing uptake and color fixing rate )under different dyeing conditions, the aim of this paper is to determine the most suitable dyestuff and auxiliaries for cashmere dyeing according to the colorfastness index, style (luster, hand feeling) and producibility (low cost, high efficiency), optimally select the most scientific, rational and environmental-friendly dyeing process suitable for cashmere dyeing and to improve the colorfastness of cashmere products, lower cost, save energy and increase spinning producing efficiency, maintain the natural characteristics of cashmere fiber to insure the long term development of superior quality brand of Erdos cashmere products.
