By in one-pot, high-purity reactive flame-retardant DOPO was synthesized. Synthesis mechainics and technical process 9,10-Dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene -10-oxide (DOPO)was discussed mainly. After majorization. The melting point of the product is about 106 degree, the purity is 96.95 percent, the productive rate is about 75.4 percent.element P as flame-retarded was brought into the molecular structure of epoxy resin by the reaction of E-20 epoxy resin , O-cresol formaldehyde novolac epoxy resin respectively and DOPO P-containing intemediate. The reaction mechanism of DOPO and epoxy resin was tested and verified by way of the infrared spectrum analysis(FTIR). At the same time, by DTA analytical method the dynamic parameter of DOPO and E-20 epoxy resin system, O-cresol formaldehyde novolac epoxy resin respectively was investigated. the results demonstrated that when DOPO reacted with E-20 epoxy resin, the constant lnA0 is 20.88, the apparent activation energy E is 96.42kJ/mol, the order of reaction n is 0.74, that when DOPO reacted with O-cresol formaldehyde novolac epoxy resin, the constant lnAo is 58.63, theapparent activation energy E is 298.51kJ/mol, the order of reaction n is 0.97.From fire-retardant mechanism, stuff selection and practical application, P-containing flame-retarded epoxy resin system on copper clad laminates(CCL) was studied. In the system the P-containing flame-retarded epoxy resin preparaed by the reation of E-20 epoxy resin , O-cresol formaldehyde novolac epoxy resin respectively and DOPO P-containing intermediate was served as matrix., at the same time , superfine aluminium hydroxide gasket material was applied as fitting-in. Thus by synergism flame-retarded effect, the flame-retardant performance and the thermal stabilities were enhanced. By study on curing dynamic parameter between P-containing epoxy resin and dicyandiamide, process parameter on cementation was provided. By the means of tests about all formulations such as the oxygen index LOI, electric performance, the best formulation about containing P flame-retardant epoxy resin used as copper clad laminates(CCL) was determined. Thermal stabilities and flame-retardant performance of P-containing flame-retarded epoxy resin in the formulation was evaluated primarily by using TGA. The results showed that the oxygen index LOI of the best formulation is 32.9 ,its char yield at 700℃ is 15.7 percent, the solid char residue is about 25 percent.
