State Of Natural Dress, Non-contact Body Measurement Technology

Along with the age of automatization and high-efficiency in the apparel industry, as a very important basic task in apparel design, anthropometry has been developed fast. At present, there are mainly two methods about human body measurement, including contact measurement and non-contact measurement. Because of the disadvantages in contact measurement, non-contact measurement has been accepted and used in many scientific research institutions and advanced enterprises. The common obstacles faced with them are high costs, complicated installation, large spaces and dark room requirement etc. Aiming at these problems and the actuality of domestic apparel enterprises, we developed a non-contact photography human body measurement system, which based on body images, from these images we can pick-up effective information and then calculate every dimension of the body. But presently people have to be measured when wearing corsetry, so some problems such as the low efficiency of the system and people's physical and mental uncomfortableness should be solved.On the base of the former studying, the paper explores how to eliminate the clothes' effect when people are measured wearing daily clothes, aiming to achieve that we can get the body silhouettes when people wear daily clothes in natural environment, and then a 3D model can be constructed.Firstly, according to the assorted theories of human body shapes, about young women's body shapes, we divide them into thin, normal and fat.Secondly, we research the body silhouette curves, get them again by "curve subsection-picking up pivotal metrical points' information-curve's mathematical approach".Thirdly, contrast several approach methods, and contrast them with body silhouettes, then get the rule of the body silhouette curves.Fourthly, we get people's images when they wear daily clothes, then pick up some pivotal metrical points' information, and with the rule of the body silhouette curves, the body silhouettes are recurred.At last, in order to check whether this way can accord with the requirement of apparel design and manufacture, we can use the 2D information which has been gotten in body silhouettes and the mathematical method of 2D-3Dconversion, and got the last dimension which can use in apparel design and manufacture directly. Furthermore, we advise several kinds of daily clothes to people for measurement.
