Natural gas is applied extensively as a kind of high quality clean fuel and basically organic industrial chemicals, to make natural gas accord with merchandise quality or pipeline transport requirement, it must be purified at the purification station. This paper based on the characteristic of processing as well as the automation control task of the 1,200,000 m~3 / day natural gas purification station, put forward the design scheme of DCS&ESD system for natural gas purification equipment, and develops the design from both hardware and software. Establish DCS system using APACS+ hardware, ESD system using QUADLOG hardware, and use programming tool to complete systematic software design.Systematic hardware design includes fixing the type and quantity of controller module and IO module, designing the control station cabinet and the wire layout in the cabinet at process controlling grade. At controlling communication network grade, using I/O BUS, MODULBUS, Modbus and Ethernet to fully realize the communication function. At process management grade, it carries out reasonable configuration for engineer station, operator station, printer and synchronous clock etc.The system's lower computer software design use 4-maton software to complete DCS control strategy, realize the functions such as the flow measurement of natural gas , PID loop regulation control and absorber sequence control etc. Complete the interlocks logic design for ESD, realize the logic controls for compressor, start and stop of motor, shut-off valve switch , stop of heating furnace , and emergency shut down at station scope, play the protective role for equipment, ensure that production safety is reliable.The system's upper computer software design use InTouch software as development platform. It accurately reflect the processing of natural gas purification station, display the technology parameters such as temperature, pressure and rate of flow in the system of DCS&ESD in real time, complete the alarm setting, look over the historical trend and real time trend, and monitor system operation condition etc.The DCS&ESD system of natural gas treating equipment in this design is a integrated, open system. In this system, type choosing and configuration is reasonable, monitoring interface is friendly. It completely satisfies the requirement of production control, in scene, it is steady to run. Through this system, it can greatly improve automation level of natural gas purification, thereby raise the gas purification capacity, and improve the quality of export gas, so it has great application value.
