The ironmaking is the first important process in iron and steel production, and the distributor chute is a major component of non-bell top blast furnace. The service life of the blast furnace distributor chute can't satisfy the consumer because of abrasion and burning. In order to solve the problem, the structure, major dimension parameters, manufacture techniques and the material quality of the chute are researched. Furthermore, a CAD system of blast furnace distributor chute is developed. This paper is mainly focused on the following aspects.1. The primary factors which affect the service life of non-bell distributor chute, such as distribution rule, the chute structure and the chute material, are discussed.2. The kinematic and mechanic action mechanism of charging in the blast furnace distributor chute are analysed. And a calculation mathematic model for the major structure parameters of the chute is established. It provides a theoretical basis for enhancing the distribution effect and prolonging the service life of the non-bell distributor chute.3. The control method of inclination angle for multi-ring charging chute is investigated, and the mathematic model for calculating chute inclination angle value is developed. It provides a referenced foundation for effective operation of the multi-ring charging and further theoretical research.4. The designing methods and key technologies of the chute, which are resistant to abrasion and high-temperature, are researched according to both the structure and material.5. Based on Solid Edge environment, the basic principle of the parametrical and the variable design is discussed. At the same time, the Solid Edge variable-table technology and its realization method are studied systematically, and the process of developing user's CAD system which based on second-development methods is discussed detailedly.6. Based on Solid Edge parametrical and variable-table technology, the practical large chute CAD system, which is combined with ADO technology of the database, is developed by Visual Basic 6.0.
