Smart Grid and Digitized Station are presented in this paper. For this, RTU (remote terminal unit), an important part for the automation of distribution station and switch station, must have more functions and better performance. By special studying, the design of Digitized RTU based on ARM7TDMI (-S) chip has been introduced. This RTU usingμC/OS-Ⅱhas kinds of communication interfaces, multi protocols, and multi-function such as monitoring, protection, measurement and so on.The overall design of RTU has been introduced in the paper, sampling algorithm using Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) and Wavelet Transformation is presented. In view of the distributed grid including the distributed source, longitudinal differential protection of communication has been introduced. Then differential protection and backup protection of the transformer which belongs to distribution station have been introduced. The hardware and software design of 2294 has been introduced in detail. The communication method by the 103 Protocol taken by the SAC has been emphatically discussed. This RTU has the Real-time processing and great communication, so that satisfy the request of intellectualized, automation distribution station and switch station.
