Industrial cameras, one part of obtainning images of the machine vision system, which's performance determine the speed of image acquisition and resolution accuracy. Currently industrial cameras, mainly in the form of MCU+CPLD structure, are complex structure and poor flexibility. Therefore, the development of a new type of simple and reliable industrial camera is of great significance. SOPC is an FPGA-based hardware design technology, design flexible and short development cycle. Hence, a new type of industrial camera is designed in this paper, based on SOPC technology. The structure of industrial cameras and working principle are studied from the view of system point, and the technical conditions required for the design of the industrial cameras. Based on SOPC technology, we designed a kind of industry camera, including hardware circuit, software program and debugging. Experimentally, local and overall functional testing was carried to verify the correctness of the design.The followings are the main research contents:1 Research of industrial camera based on SOPC technology. First, the research background of industrial cameras and development status were introduced, industrial cameras would come to small and multi-oriented; Second, the paper proposed industry camera design based on SOPC technology, and programed content in detail; Finally SOPC technology which is based on FPGA hardware was studied, analyzed feasibility to the technical design of the industrial camera.2 Design of hardware circuit of industrial cameras. First, frame structure of the hardware circuit of general industrial cameras was analysised; Second, three-part hardware circuit of a new type of industrial cameras was introduced, including design requirements analysis, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, signal integrity analysis; and finally gave the design results.3 Program and debug of software programs of industrial cameras. First the paper analyzed the function of software program of industrial camera; Second, designed software programs according to functional requirements, including the SOPC Platform, NiosⅡsoftware program and the USB firmware. Described the program design ideas, the difficulties and solutions while programmng and debugging; and finally gave part of the program code and experimental results. 4 Partial and whole function tests of industrial cameras. The paper used the hardware circuit and software of industrial cameras erected test platform, using test platform for the test of all hardware circuits and the software programs. After verified the correctness of the design, the paper analysis of the shortcomings of existing designs, which provided a basis for improvement and the next optimization.
