After annular-island was introduced in routine intersection, the traffic operation track has been greatly changed resulted from the change of the spatial layout. Due to the lack of the related theoretical study, the time and space resources in roundabout have not been made full use of. To solve this problem this paper attempts to do analysis and research on the signal timing and spatial organization optimum of intersection based on the traffic operation track in intersection with central-landscape, at the same time, combine the factors which affect the traffic capacity design of intersection, in order to integrate the time and spatial resources of the intersection.First of all, research significance is proposed after the research results relevant to traffic capacity design of intersection and signal control are summarized, the affected factors of traffic capacity design, traffic flow characteristics and vehicle delays are analyzed furtherly. On this basis, according to the curved track of the vehicle flow in intersection, by taking the central island radius and the width of the intersection as the key parameter, its relationship with the traffic operation of the signalized roundabout was discussed. Furthermore, a change interval model of intersection with central-landscape was built to optimize the signal timing.Secondly, the spatial organization optimum of intersection with central-landscape was researched in this paper, included lane function split and intersection channelization. On the basis of synthetically considering the relation between the approach lane, the exit lane and the road section lane, the paper introduces the approach function matrix does the research on the lane function split method. Then, the analysis on the spatiotemporal design integration of intersection was finished.Finally, taking a real traffic situation of an intersection with central-landscape in Tianjin as an example, applying the model and method studied in this paper, especially optimizing the signal timing, the efficiency of model built in this paper was verified.
