The demand of the RMU application requires that the size of protective device must be smaller and the function must be stronger. There are less applications of this kind.nationally. According to the application of the distribution system RMU and the demand of the protective device, the thesis will provide a design of the protective device with the specialities, such as compact structure, lower cost and completely functions.At first, the thesis will introduce the hardware platform. There are lots of components used in the device. For example, the DSP TMS320F28035 is used as the main CPU, and its CLA function is used as the coprocessor, which will share the burden with the main CPU. Therefore this methord will upgrade the performance of the protective device. The protective device provides six switch inputs and five relay output points. The man-machine interface will design with the LEDs, the KEYs and the OLED. The software is used the object-oriented theory and the high level programming language C++,. The software design will use the menu to show all the device informations and the parameters, so the user can operate the device easily. In the design, the device can communicate with the server through the GPRS system and the Internet, the SCADA-NT will deal with the data and display with the graphical interface.The tests of all the functions make clear that this protective device is suitsble for the real time application, the reliability and security application. All in all, it is suitable for the industry field applications.
