This paper is partial fruits of experimental and theoretical investigation of one province條evel scientific research project Fundamental mechanical behaviors of KP burned shale-farinosecoal porous brick masonry have been tested through the experiments of 12 compressive specimens and 26 shear specimens. By the experimental investigation of 6 KP1 burned shale梖arinosecoal porous brick walls under low cyclic loading, the failure feature and basic seismic behavior such as deformation behavior, strength, stiffness, ductility and force梔isplacement relations of this kind of i~alls have been analyzed. On the base of the classic theory of shear梑earing capacity of tall, formula for calculating the shear capacity of this kind of tall has been deduced, whose results are in good agreement with the experimental results. Finally, a nonlinear seismic response time梙istory analysis program has been used to calculate a 7-storey KP1 burned shale梖arinosecoal porous brick masonry building. The result indicates a good seismic behavior of this kind of building.
