With the decrease of oil resource in the world, to reduce the operating costs in the power stations, the studies of ignition technologies with less or no oil have been developed early at home and abroad, and there are many achievements gained. This thesis sums up the current ignition and combustion stabilizatipn technologies, and introduces the burners used broadly in the povver stations and theirs features. A new technology, electromagnetic induction heating (BIH] for oil-free ignition and stable combustion, is studied in this thesis.In order to save oil for ignition and raise cyclic operation capability of utility boilers, EIH for oil-free ignition and stable combustion is adopted to de歩gn the burner and experimental system in this thesis.According to numerous experiments of EIH for air, the transient magnetic field has exerted certain influence on the thermocouple measurement. It is concluded in this thesis that the influence can be reduced or neglected with appropriate measuring parameters, which are fundamenta! for further researches on temperature measurement in experiments.The feasibility of the new type burner has been validated through combustion experiments conducted on Vanzhou coal. This thesis has studied the pulverized coal flow firing process and different parameters (thickness, wind speed, temperature, etc.) that affect this process, thus concluded the best parameters for combustion of Vanzhou coal. Experiment results show that such burners are safe enough, feature good adaptability in operation and ease of use, have litter investment, are provided with good economical benefit, etc. They have broad prospects for use in utility boilers that consume no oil for ignition and maintain the stability of flame.EIH for oil-free ignition is applied to the 5# boiler in Jilin thermoelectricity mili, and the ways of degn is given in the thesis.
