Distribution Automation is a new technology and domain developing in recent years. It's the inevitable trend of power system modernization. Distribution Automation System is automation and supervising system which applyies modern electron, communications, computer and network technology to integrating distribution system real time information, off-line information, user information, electric network structural parameter and geographic information. For distribution automation, the selection and realization of communications protocol and mode is an important tache, and is the foundation of data and order transferred speedily and reliably.Feeder Automation is one of the most important functions of Distribution Automation System. This paper studies the realization of communication and the method of accessing, analyzing and utilizing data acquisition. First it summarizes distribution automation system and feeder automation system, introduces their relationships, researches and analyzes functions should be realized. In chapter two, we research communication system and adoptive protocols of distribution automation system. DL/T634-1997 protocol is presented and it's characteristic is analyzed, and is compared with DNP3.0 protocol. How to apply this protocol to feeder automation system is also discussed in this chapter. In chapter three, we research the communication programming of feeder automation system, adopt object-oriented technology, finished the design of communication program. In chapter four, the methods of displaying, accessing and utilizing data acquisition are researched. The design way of Sql Server table and how to display, access, analyze and utilize data acquisition are discussed in detail.
