| Distribution Automation is a new technology and domain developing in recent years. It's the inevitable trend of Power system modernization. Distribution Automation System is automation and supervising system which applies modern electron,communications,computer and network technology to integrating distribution system real time information,off-line information,user information,electric network structural Parameter and geographic information.First it summarizes distribution automation system and feeder automation system. In chapter two,we research Linux operating system and the application in FTU, based on introducing structure of hardware. In chapter three,IEC 60870-5-101 Protocol is Presented, it's characteristic is analyzed,and it's application in FTU is discussed in detail. In chapter four,IEC 60870-5-104 Protocol is Presented, it's characteristic is analyzed,and it's application in FTU is discussed in detail.
