The paper is concerned with the application design process of the USB2.0 bus interface in the theodolite mainly. It introduces the developing project and process of the USB2. 0 bus interface in the theodolite's data communication, which is composed with Cypress' Cy7c68013 as a major chip. In addition, the paper also gives the material actualization means.First, the paper introduces the application probability of the USB 2.0 businterface in the theodolite, and then from hardware to software, the entire developingprocess of the USB2.0 interface board is introduced in detail. The whole contentshows as follows:1 The paper, demonstrates the application probability of the USB 2.0 businterface, aiming at the structure of the theodolite's communication system. 2 After studying the protocol of the USB 2.0 bus, the USB interface communication board is designed. Two means of hardware interface is introduced in detail.3 The software design of the communication board includes the firmware, the driver and the communication application program. In the development part of the firmware, it introduces the idea of program design, the hierarchy, the program design in detail, some key codes and the debugging process. In the development part of the driver, it describes the structure of WDM driver and its developing process, depicts the communication method between the driver and application program. In the development part of the host application program, it introduces the function and realization way of the application program, and gives part source codes.
