Centrifugal Pump impeller is the key component whose designing speed and quality directly influence the development period and the competition ability of production. The applications of impeller CAD at home and abroad and its deficiency are analyzed based on the detailed investigations. By adopting parameterized modeling technique on advanced CAD software plat Pro/E, the Centrifugal Pump impeller CAD system is developed. There are five chapters in this thesis:In the first chapter, the development, the characteristics and the current status of impeller CAD are introduced. The deficiency of the CAD software is analyzed. Finally the project significance, main research contents are provided.In the second chapter, firstly the basic theory of parameterized modeling technique and the three popular parameterized methods, namely variable geometric method, geometric logic and construction process method are introduced. The parameterized modeling impeller, which hasn't been solved currently, is studied on Pro/E deeply and some key technologies of modeling the impeller are discussed. The Optimization of pinacoid flow passage, which can't be realized by single parameterized technology, is figured out with behavioral modeling. By establishing the optimal characteristics, the complex and repetitive process of impeller design is turned into an automatic one. The built parameterized models have direct parameter-driven functions.In the third chapter, the optimized models, the optimizing and the evaluating system of impeller are studied. The minimal energy loss is regarded as the objective function and parameters of the impeller, the main component influencing the performance of pump, is treated as the design variables, so the optimization of the impeller models is done. The shortcomings of the primary models are analyzed and the total efficiency ? is calculated, which makes the models more perfective. Using complex method and the optimized results driving the models, the optimization design of models are realized.In the fourth chapter, the archetypal system of impeller CAD is realized. Based on model methods, the models are developed. The key technologies in the secondary development of Pro/Engineer are discussed, which make the models have the following functions, such as designing the parameters directly, optimizing models, managing model files. Furthermore the information extraction technology of models is developed.In Chapter five, all the research contents are summarized, and some advises are given for the future of the project research.
