By combine the theory of multi-body dynamics with Virtual Prototype (VP) technology and finite element analysis (FEA) method, the dynamic simulations results of the whole system and the check results of the main component's intensity under several working conditions are supplied to the design of the automobile based self-propelled artillery system, the important national project, in this paper.Through the Virtual Prototype (VP) establishing process of the automobile based self-propelled artillery system, the related problems concerned dynamics are mainly discussed. Including: The dynamics equations of the whole system are obtained by utilizing the theory of multi-body system dynamics and then the concerned basic theory of ADAMS is introduced; By using Pro-e, I-Deas, the three dimensional model of the artillery is constructed, then the fine dynamics model gained by using ADAMS; Explored and practiced crawl-walk-run method on constructing complex multi-body system's VP; Based on ADAMS/ Hydraulic and ADAMS/AutoFlex module, the hydraulic and front suspension, the leaf-spring sub-systems, are established and coupled to the whole system; The causes of numeral divergence occurred during the simulation analysis of complex system are analyzed and the correspondent solving techniques is suggested and practiced, including the substitution of instantaneous forces and contact forces etc. In the end based on the most reliable final dynamics model, the stability of lunch process and the react force on main component are analyzed and then it's finite element analysis (FEA) is performed by using the result of dynamic analysis in Ansys. The modify advices are given at last.
