Based On The Sliding Window Electric Multi-leaf Collimator

With the progress of the radiation therapy ,More and more Radiation oncologists intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) ,because of its outstanding merit at aspects of increasing TMR ,killing tumour cells and decreasing or avoiding irradiating near normal tissue. intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) must be the leading technology of radiation therapy in 21st century. As the indispensable equipment of IMRT, multi leaf collimator(MLC) is very important. Because the price of import equipments is very expensive, developing it by ourselves become a major measure for decrease the high cost of radiation therapy. The subject of this paper is design of multi leaf collimator based on Sliding Window. the paper described the whole design process of multi leaf collimator system based on Sliding Window, including system function analysis, mode analysis of intensity modulated, project design, electrocircuit design and programming etc, and detailedly discussed the technology requirement and realization of Sliding Window mode , realization of serial port communication , realization of communication center based on MCU and realization of control system based on DSP etc. otherwise, this paper also discussed the verification and inspection about this system. Through system design, system realization, system verification and system inspection, we accomplished the project successfully. the multi leaf collimator can realize primary function of intensity modulated radiation therapy, and has passed test of SFDA. these shows that our multi leaf collimator attained the expected design goals.
