With the rapid development of industry automation technology, the engine room automation technology has arrived a high level. The ship has abundant engine room resources and the engine room is becoming automatic by leaps and bounds. However, currently the macroscopic study of engine room resources is proceeding slowly.Through a systematic analysis of the engine losses during the postgraduate study, it has been found that among the 400 fatal accidents, human factors have caused 330 accidents, accounting for 83.1% of all the accidents, very close to the globally acknowledged man-made faults rate 80%. This verifies ship accidents are related to man-made faults in many respects. Man-made faults constitute the most important factor in ship accidents. Thus, a macroscopic analysis of engine room resources is very helpful to reducing man-made faults. At the preliminary stage of this paper, because of the insufficiency of ERM { engine room resource management) literature, the substance and standards of engine room resource management are still not mature while the study of BRM (Bridge Resource Management) is effective. From the perspective of resource management, prior to the submission of the writer's personal opinions, a lot of related materials concerning BRM and its training system have been taken for reference. In addition, man-made faults constitute the major factor in engine room accidents. Therefore, a top priority is given to BRM in the whole study framework of engine room resource management. The system of ERM in this paper has been discussed from the following four perspectives, including manage about engine room human resource t, engine room equipment resource, engine room consumption resource, engine room information resource. Human resource management includes human factors, safety culture, and technical administration. Engine room plants resource management includes power equipment management and pipe system management. Management about Engine room consumption resource is composed of oil management, sparematerial management and fresh water management. Engine room informations resource management comprise engine room material management and daily maintenance management. On the basis of studying human factors in engine room human resource management, this paper has established a set of evaluation system applying in engine room resource management training by introducing AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and taking BRM for reference. This paper, closely surrounding engineroom resource management, lays out emphasis on the analysis and discussion of human factors. This paper is made up of six parts. Part I is the overview of engineroom resource management. Part II has put forward the management framework of engine-room resource. Part III has elaborated engine room human resource management. Par IV has made an analysis of engine-room human factors. Part V has been the introduction of AHP and the study of the evaluation system of engine room resource management training. Part VI ends the whole paper.
