Electric Load Management Center (ELMC) is an important part of Advanced Aircraft Power Distribution System. According to power layout instruction and load's power request of the Power System Processor (PSP) and the status of electric load, ELMC realizes automatic power distribution and automatic management of electric load by shedding electric loads to keep the load level below power supply level.According to the analyse of the Advanced Aircraft Power System and the requirement of the FTEPS, the paper discusses the function, structure and the capability target of ELMC, and bring forward an feasible project.During the process of the design, based on the widely research on the technology of internal and overseas, an idea that adopt PC/104 as platform is given. The VxWorks RTOS is built up on this platform. 8255 chip is adopted to extend I/O port. This design not only ensures the real-time collection and issuance of digital I/O, but also enhances the maintainability and the expansibility of the system. In the design of software, based on function demand of ELMC and characteristic of VxWorks, task modules and task priorities are assigned. Electric Load Equations are used to process status signals and control commands. And 1553 data bus is used to communication with PSP.Finally, there is a specific summarize on the developed ELMC and a test for the system. The evaluating and experimental results indicate that the ELMC on basis of PC/104 and RTOS can distribute the power automatically and manage the loads by itself. It is also highly real-time, reliable and fault-tolerant compatible.
