With the progress of human society and the development of economy, the water consumption is increasing with expansion of city and rapid growth of pollution, which caused the deterioration of environment and serious pollution and waste of water resources. The cost of development of new water resources and water pollution prevention is increasing. Reclaimed water system has function of development of new water resources and water pollution prevention, which has economic utility, social efficiency and environment benefit.The paper systematically expounded the composition and current application of municipal reclaimed water system, analyzed that it is necessary and feasible to develop the return-use project of intermediate water in a residential area, and analyzed sources and quality of reclaimed water, the range of its use, selection of treatment technology, design of water supplying mode etc. It discussed the questions to which attention should be paid and the applying perspective, and provided the feasible applying mode of reclaimed water. Acorrding as characterist of reclaimed water system of residential area, the paper put forward technical principles and the treatment process, and the assessment method about reclaimed water system of residential area, by which can be put to use as certain Guiding suggestions for the construction of greywater system in residential area.
