With enterprise informationization running in depth, aviation enterprises urgently need a Managing System of Tools with good practicability and high-capacity of integration, The System should support the whole design and management business, effectively improve data sharing and exchange capacity, and support multi-mission, multi-user parallel teamwork. For the requirements of aviation enterprises' tools management, with the modern software technology, a Managing System of Tools based on Product Data Management (PDM) system is proposed.The main points are summarized as follows:1. The tool management activities in aviation enterprise is researched, some advices of tool management in aviation enterprise are presented, the directions of research is showed clearly.2. The architecture of the Managing System of Tools based on PDM is created, the applied requirements of aviation enterprises' tools management is took into count.3. The information of Managing System of Tools is analyzed, and information model is created based on Object-Oriented technologies. Data organization and management methods are researched. The data foundation is laid for diversification designing and overall management of tools.4. The development process of tools in aviation enterprise is analyzed based on mode of business disassembled, and the process is optimized to support collaborative working. The information management, business management and user management is achieved by solution of dealing with process of PDM to raise development efficiency and shorten development cycle.5. The data of tools design is managed by the method of CBD, and expressed by prototype case, storage case and query case. At last the case-base is built to meet the rapid designing demand and improve the reuse rates of tools.
