In this dissertation, a vulnerability assessment model of the fragmentation warhead to the aircraft target is established. This model includes the analysis of aircraft target structure, the description of aircraft target, the reference frame analysis, the damage volume model of warhead, the meeting model of aircraft and warhead, the analysis of the aircraft target critical component, the damage assessments of the component, the damage tree of aircraft target and aircraft target vulnerability assessment. At the same time, using the model given in this paper, simulation experiments about a fixed wing aircraft vulnerability assessment impacted by a fragmentation warhead is done with ATVASS. The results of simulation prove that ATVASS has high stability and reliability, and some suggestions have been given to optimize the design of aircrafts.Based on the above vulnerability assessment model aircraft target vulnerability analysis software called ATVASS (Aircraft Target Vulnerability Assessment Simulation Software) is developed. The software includes three subsystems: database system, aircraft target vulnerability model system and graphics visualization module. To establish the aircraft target vulnerability model system, the damage module of aircraft target critical component and the damage tree module are designed and built as a part and parcel of the system.
