In the form of ever-changing of modern warfare, with the increasingly harshenvironment and high-tech weapons systems of a large number of applications, the battlefieldsurvivability of weapons systems are increasingly demanding. On this basis, the paper expandthe study of effect of the fragment impact warhead failure response base on insensitiveammunition background.Based on the assumption of ignoring the sidewall impact and one-dimensional planeshock wave of this article, simplify the warhead to explosive with shield. Further analyzedof the initiation mechanism and detonate criterion of warhead by the impact of fragments.Referring to the shock wave propagation theory, researched the pattern of propagation inmultilayer shell and proposed composite shell material selection conceive. Also studied theeffect of reflection shock wave to initiating with different material of backplane. The author analyzed the shock initiation process of simplified model by usingAUTODYN. It is concluded that the different backplane on the influence pattern of explosivedetonation. Comparatively studied the pattern of different material and structure with singlelayer and multilayer shells. Using the SPUA and UPE two kinds of non-metal materialsrespectively with A3steel plate are combined into two or three layers composite shellstructure. Found that the composite shell can significantly reduce the response of the warheadcharge levelThe author designed the fragment impact experiment and set up a comprehensivediscriminant explosive failure response level determination methods. The criterion includingexplosive and shell remaining, identification target pit size and flying distance, the brightnessand diameter of the fire, target flying speed and the explosive powder remaining. The resultsof experiment shows the same pattern as theories postulate and Simulation results.
