With the development of resources of mountain area, the facilitation of freeway to national economic and social development in the mountain area is more and more obvious, so, the security question of the freeway of mountain area seems particularly important. This text uses the method of qualitative and quantity analysis, combining the theory of traffic engineering, psychology, man-machine engineering, traffic controlling etc., carry on the research of mountain freeway travel safety ensuring system emphatically.Through the analysis to the freeway accident characteristic of mountain area in our country, according to the actual conditions of the freeway travel safety of mountain area of our country, considering the impact on traffic safety, the paper suggests to build up a freeway safety ensuring system involving the driving environmental system, safety emergency rescue system and security information system.Based on freeway safety devices and management level in mountain area now, the paper introduces advanced technology and equipment that each subsystem adopts, according to the actual conditions of freeway from Xi'an to Zhashui, the paper proposes some corresponding implements and control measures, in order to ensure the traffic safety of the free way in mountain area.
