Altemating Current (AC) machines is a typical nonlinear object. Motorparameters are time-varying and load is uncertain during operation. It also has theproblems of magnetic saturation and complicated immobile-kinetic friction. In thispaper, a novel position control method of permanent magnet synchronous motor isdeveloped that we use the interconnection and damping assignment passivity-basedcontrol method in the theory of Hamiltonian systems. In Matlab/Simulink, the modelsof Hamiltonian control systems are established. The simulation results show that thecontrol systems are correct. We also make contrast with the vector control.First of all, we review the development of control strategies for AC motor drives.Furthermore, the energy shaping control methods of Euler-Lagrange andport-controlled Hamiltonian systems are introduced in this paper. They are includedthe precise definitions of passivity, dissipativity, energy-shaping andenergy-balancing equation. Some important theories on them are presented. Wedescribe standard mathematical expressions of the Euler-Lagrange systems (EL) andport-controlled Hamilton systems with dissipation (PCHD).Secondly, from an energy-balancing point of view and primitive models of ACmotors, EL and PCHD models of PMSM motor is established in theα-βstationaryframe and d-q synchronously rotating reference frame, respectively. We designed theposition feedback controller using the method of Interconnection and DampingAssignment Passivity-Based Control (IDA-PBC), based on the PCH model of PMSMmotor. And we solved the problems such as: collocating the skew-symmetric matrixand the damp matrix, choosing the desired closed-loop energy function, seeking forthe desired equilibrium, analyzing the stability.Thirdly, In Matlab/Simulink, the model of PMSM machine's Hamiltoniancontrol system is established. We compared the vector control method withHamiltonian systems control method in the aspect of the establishing the model,analyzing the stability, physical signification and the simulation result.The conclusion of the research work in this dissertation is made and the futureresearch direction is given out also.
