Multi-motors synchronization control system has been widely used in modern industrial production. The traditional multi-motors synchronization system used the method of numeral and simulation control unified, through the way of unifying the mechanical synchronization and the electrical synchronization to satisfy the production craft's requests. The system had disadvantages such as complicated circuity, low precision, low real-time capacity, weak robustness, bad stability and so on. To solve these problems, new control method and technology is demanded. In this condition, a completely numeral and electrical control system based on the PROFIBUS-DP network was designed. The fuzzy control method also was used in the synchronization control of the system.PROFIBUS-DP is a typical real-time distributed control network which is widely used in the corporation of our country. It simplifies the system structure and the circuity, makes the operation conveniently and realizes real distributed control by making control functions down to the spot. Also, it gives the field equipments more functions such as control, communication, configuration management, self-diagnose and so on. The application of PROFIBUS-DP in the multi-motor synchronization control system can prominently improve the system's precision, stability and real-time capacity.As a new control method of the combination of fuzzy mathematics and automation, fuzzy control was usually used in the systems with no-linear property, time-varying property and random interference. The application of fuzzy method in the multi-motor synchronization control system can improve the system's robustness.As the bottom control network, the real-time capacity of transmitting messages is very important for fieldbus. With the help of relative theory, the real-time capacity of the multi-motor synchronization control system based on the PROFIBUS-DP network is analyzed. According to the analysis and comparison of experiment data, the factors that affect the real-time capacity of the system have been discussed. Also, some methods on how the real-time capacity could be improved in PROFIBUS-DP systems are given.
