Banking self-help service terminal multimedia system (BSTMS) belongs to a classicalself-help service system. Because of the convenient, quickly and personal service qualityprovided by the distributed self-service terminal, the running cost of the banks can begreatly reduced. Hence BSTMS has been proved to be an effective way to enhance theinnovation mode of finance industry. How to build the general and acvanced BSTMS withthe ability of dealing with differenct langrages and running under the different platformshas been becoming a very importment topic of research center and researchers.Supporting by the project of BSTMS of LiaoNing Province Agriculture Bank, thepaper focuses on the research of the J2EE framework and Web technology. A self-helpservice application platform in Browser/Server mode has been developed. Futhermore, theWEB Service technologies on how to develop the self-help service system are alsodiscussed. The system architecture, the completely technology framwork of our BSTMSand detailed designing method of each sub-system are given in the paper. Our proposedBSTMS has four advantages. Fisrt, the very good stability properties has been provided bythe spectial treatment of failure recovery, exception handling and journaling inquiry.Secondly, the system safety is also guaranteed by the encryption of key data andcharacters' segment, thus the transaction procedure of bank can not be forged. Thirdly, ininterface viewing, the voice and frames are made synchronous for convenient and easy touse. Finally, the component based programming for transaction sub-system and Java basedprogramming for Web application are used to ensure the expandability and portability ofour system. In the end of the scientific dissertation, we list some practical results of oursystem with application to LiaoNing Province Agriculture Bank. The results show thepracticability our system and run very well.
