The backing car radar, also known as parking assistant system or backing caution system, could make driver aware of barriers around by sound or more intuitionistic display. Therefore, the vision dead angle that appears in parking, backing and starting a car could be avoided.The backing car radar designed in this paper could be divided into two major parts: 1.distance measurement by detector: ultrasonic sensor is used as a detector, controlled by FPGA. The distance between the back of car and the barrier can be shown.2.Backsight photography: images are captured, sent into FPGA after decoding by video decode chip. Processed by FPGA, images are displayed on screen.The design showed in this paper is based on DE2 development board from Altera. Hardware platform is built using SOPC technology.Video format is transformed using Verilog hdl hardware language. Ultrasonic distance measurement is achieved by language C. Simulations and experments are down,the whole system can work well. |
