Yunnan Asphalt Pavement Rutting Causes Analysis And Countermeasures Study

The rut is one of main the premature damage of asphalt pavement in expressway, and influence traffic safety and asphalt pavement service function。This paper analyzed the main reasons that caused the rut of asphalt pavement through the field investigation of Chu Da expressway asphalt pavement in expressway. The main reasons that caused the rut are as follows: Firstly, the phenomenon of over freight is serious; the aggregate and the asphalt conglutinating is difficult , and use the unqualified aggregate. Secondly, the choice of the asphalt does not conform to the local climate characteristic. Thirdly, the bituminous mixtures design is unreasonable, and the asphalt content is not appropriate. Fourthly, the design has not considered the influence of the longitudinal slope and the temperature. On the basis of above researches, this paper put forward some measures to improve the capacity of anti-rut for the asphalt pavement, such as enhancing the aggregate quality control and the high temperature stability of the Bituminous mixtures, using the qualified aggregate and the high quality bituminous binder, using modified asphalt cement or increasing the anti-rut polymer; optimize the pavement structure and gradation of aggregate, and select the high anti-rut performance asphalt concrete, such as SMA> Superpave and so on. Optimize the bituminous mixtures design method; Enhance construction control and management; Enhance road administration management measure or means to improve the asphalt pavement whole anti-rut ability. Next, the author did tests in the laboratory, including the mix design and pavement performance of hot mixture asphalt that had the ability to resist rut. At the same time, this paper adds the PR PLASTS additive which produced by the P.R.INDUDUSTRIE company in France. At last, the author investigated the SMA pavement anti-rut effect of Yun Nan Province, and summarized the main problem, including strengthen the technique repertory, play down the cost, and improve the Construction Quantity, to promote the SMA asphalt pavement.
