The thesis mainly focuses on parking problems in old residential quarters. With our economic development, a great number of private cars have entered Chinese families. It greatly challenges the parking facilities of community, especially old residential areas in many cities.In view of the difficulties in constructing new parking lots in these areas and fulfilling planning ideas, the paper deals with the issue and offers feasible suggestions and seeks effective measures to solve the problems in the long term.With city and society in mind, and with diversified, systematic reflection, the thesis proposes measures to meet the growing demand for parking spots in old residential quarters.In our country, the planning layout is compact because our residential land is limited. Factors such as the design of road system,, residence and greenbelt will have an influence on the choice of parking place as well as parking ways. The thesis believes that road system and parking should be considered together. Meanwhile, optimize planning layout of old residential quarters so as to have landscape and parking lots at the same time.Based on the transformation of residential quarters, the construction of parking lots can be more user-friendly and improve the landscape when we aim to make the public service and environment match.
