A prototype model on computer can be built by applying virtual prototyping technology in hoisting and conveying machinery. The running state of crane's mechanisms with the load condition and its time-varying simulation process in various working conditions are performed. Some simulation parameters and results of crane performance are obtained. According to these data, various data of the actual running process can be estimated and inferred accurately. Then the design schemes are improved. The cost of a crane is reduced and its quality is improved. The development cycle is shortened and the competitiveness of the products is enhanced.This thesis builds the three-dimensional numeral virtual prototyping model by taking the bridge crane as the research object and using Pro/E and ADAMS software. The multi-body system dynamics simulation analysis study of the bridge crane is performed. According to crane dynamics theory, the dynamic model of a crane's three mechanisms is built on the basis of analyzing and studying virtual prototyping technology and the basic theory of multi-body system dynamics. The dynamic loads of different work conditions are decided through calculation. The crane's three-dimensional solid model is constructed by using thethree-dimensional solid modeling software--Pro/E. In the meantime, the interface technologybetween Pro/E and ADAMS software is analyzed. Through the Mech/Pro module which is their interface module, the crane's three-dimensional solid model is delivered into ADAMS successfully. Applied the constraints and loads, the bridge crane's kinematics and dynamics performance simulation study is completed. The simulation results are analyzed. These provide valuable guidance for crane's design.The virtual prototyping study of bridge crane system is the preliminary application of advanced simulation technology in crane design. It provides a new design tool and method for designing the economical, reliable and high-functional cranes.
