Xi'an City Park System, Space Layout

City Park System (CPS) is an important component of urban green space and recreation system, and also is an important measure of the contemporary human habitat environment. Recently, urban green space construct in a rapid speed. However, the emergence of new type green space and the requirement of urban recreation space, we have the duty to redefine the content and extension about urban parking. Based on the urban development theories, urban recreation theories, suburban recreational circle theories, landscape ecology theories, this article redefined the CPS include not only urban planning area park, but also some suburban new type green space.This article research are totally regard to urban parkland. At first, the author summarizes the process about urban parkland evolution which analyzed in the three times urban master plan. Secondly, the author analyses Xi'an city parkland in the different several way, such as urban park type system, urban park distribution pattern, urban park scale system, park area takes percent of green land area, suburban new green space system. Through the analysis of Xi'an city park system, the author found some existing problems, such as:uneven of park pattern, lack in park quantity, shortage of neighborhood park and community small garden, lack of green gallery, low park space efficiency, imperfect of the suburban green space. Finally, the author proposes the principle guiding CPS development. According the principle, the thesis provides some suggestions and strategies for the construction of city park system.
