USB digital storage Oscilloscope (USB DSO) is a new type of digital storage Oscilloscope with USB interface as main port. USB interface is in USB 2.0 protocol. USB digital storage Oscilloscope has a lot of advantages, such as ease to use, low power and portability. A lot of foreign companies have products in this area, for example PC Based Oscilloscope of GAO Tek Inc., DS 1000USB digital storage Oscilloscope of Acute. But there are few produces in our internal company. Based on the actuality, we design a USB digital storage Oscilloscope with USB 2.0 interface. Its bandwidth is 1000MHz, and its max sample rate is 400MSPS.In this essay, we describe the System Design in our system. Base on the system design, we continue to explain the hardware design and software design of USB DSO. The spark point of the project is, with smaller PCB space, designing a complex usb digital storage Oscilloscope which has analog bandwidth 100MHz, real time sample rate 400MSPS, equivalent sample rate 40GSPS. The difficult part of this project is transferring a large buck of sample data to PC at a speed of real time. Another great feature is dynamic configuration of FPGA. Using this method we can achieve more functions with a single FPGA with less resources, we can also reduce PCB space.We test and verify the design fully, and this essay gives some testing result. This design is qualified to the specification. But this design is far from perfect. In the essay, we tell some problems that being found until now and some solutions and suggestions are provided to solve these problems. I think these suggestions may be useful for work in the next step.
