Hebei province is one the birthplace of China, in which abundant cultural relics exist. The development of archaeology enterprise in China provides a rare material of object for recognizing the visage of archaic Hebei. Hebei is a typical representative of ancient culture. The writing material that unearthed can reflect the visage of that time more. But the most valuable data that we can see today is only engraved inscription of bronze that can be sure to note the history of that time. Basing on the achievements of the researchers and making use of the newest unearthing material, the thesis will reveal the visage of bronze sacrificial vessel's writing material during Shang and Chou dynasty unearthed in Hebei and the status of the present researches.This thesis embodies 182 bronze sacrificial vessels of Shang and Chou dynasty unearthed in Hebei province. The body can be divided into four parts. Chapter One is bout the purpose, the significance, the status of present research and the difficulties of the research. Chapter Two makes a brief introduction to 182 bronze sacrificial vessels in the thesis, including the time, place of unearthing, the location of collection and embodying bibliography in order to make the reader comprehend the bronze sacrificial vessel of Shang and Chou dynasty in HeBei fully. Chapter Three gives a collective explanation of engraved inscription from perspective of different countries. Basing on the achievements of other scholars, combining with the foundation of collective explanation and the author's study of engraved inscription, this chapter has carried out. Chapter Four makes a textual research into bronze sacrificial vessel's race emblem writing of Shang and Chou dynasty unearthed in HeBei and tries to find the historical origin of it to reveal the activities of vassal state and tribes as well as the communications with other vassal states during Ch'in dynasty in Hebei. Chapter Five is an introduction to the currency writing of Shang and Chou dynasty. Appendix i and Appendix ii shave reorganization of the bronze sacrificial vessel during Shang and Chou dynasty unearthed in Hebei by the region and list the plate of engraved inscription in order to offer convenience to the reader.
