The current road transportation guidance system is far from being satisfactory with many junctions being blind areas. The current situation of the road system contributes to the inconvenience of people's daily life and even is the cardinal potential to the occurrence of serious accidents, which incurs great losses to the society. In this sense, the issue of "personalization" in the design of the guidance system has not been attached enough importance by enterprises or related authorities. Therefore, the author of the present thesis chooses the design of the road guidance system as a research subject and carries out a series of works concerning reviewing and sorting out related materials, taking the perspective of the personalized design of the system. Emphasizing the importance of the personalized design in public transportation guidance signs and hospital signs as well as various expressing forms for specific spaces in schools, the author of the present thesis puts forward some guiding ideas for the personalized design in the graduation thesis as follow:first of all, the international signs should be used. Secondly, graphics should be selected from the sign systems familiar to people. Thirdly, the information should be delivered with exact graphic languages. Fourthly, high-tech materials and high-tech technology should be used. The designer should apply complicated image implications by means of traditional but modern expressing forms to the design of the guidance system and create a brand new system featured by personalization and cultural implication. The author of the present thesis lists the issue of personalization in the design of the guidance system as the top issue for the present research to make sure that the design of the guidance system would reflect the potential of "personalization" and the core design idea of "People First". This research would pave the way for further personalized designs in the future.
