The education of higher vocational school aims at training applied technical talents who have better practical and manual abilities. Practical training which emphasizes on these abilities is the primary teaching method in the area of fine art education. All the work in higher vocational college is centered on this key point. Therefore, it is significant to conduct a research on the practical ability cultivation of students in higher vocational college. But there are many problems in fine art education of higher vocational school, such as the curriculum provision and the practical course arrangement are not appropriate; the relationship between theory and practice is not handled properly; teaching methods are not suitable and the improper examination system which lacks of tracing on students, etc. This paper discusses these issues in the following five parts:The first part is the introduction, which introduces the current situation of the researches on the fine art education in higher vocational school, the problems to be solved by this paper and the meaning of the research.The second part is the implementation preparation for the training of student's practical abilities in higher vocational college, exploring the feasible methods, improving the conditions for training student's practical abilities.The third part is the implementation strategy for the training of student's practical abilities in higher vocational college. Effective and feasible strategy is a strong guarantee for the training of student's practical abilities.The forth part is the implementation means for the training of student's practical abilities in higher vocational college. Effective and suitable means will consolidate and enhance the practical education and student's practical abilities.The final part is the conclusion, which points out that the training of student's practical abilities is a systematic and integrative process. We have to study each aspect, while at the mean time take it as a whole.
