Research of college students'psychological needs is a significant part of their mental health education. Based on the study of psychological needs, scientific ground of psychological support for college students can be achieved, thus promoting the development of mental health education. College students, as a special group, are in the period of rapid physical and psychological development and possess unique psychological developmental features. According to the American psychologist Erikson's self-identity theory, the critical issue during college students'growth rest with how to solve the conflict between self-identity and self-identity confusion. Therefore, this paper, grounded in Erikson's self-identity theory, probed into the characteristics of college students'psychological needs. The correlations of identity crisis and college students'psychological needs, the identity moments and college students'psychological needs, college students'psychological needs and the construction of psychological support system are primarily discussed. By right of the research, the detailed psychological needs of college students are analyzed. In addition, the discussion of relationships between college students'psychological needs and the identity crisis, the identity moments, provides theoretical basis for the establishment of college students'psychological support system.
