The Study On Social Support System For College Students' Psychological Rebuilding After The Earthquake

In Wenchuan Earthquake of 2008, college students-the special group after experiencing escape from death, waiting for to be rescued, seeing the death and so on, they were hurt seriously both in body and mind. As a result they are being troubled by anxiety, horror, guilty, anger, depression and so on. College students are now at a special stage in which their body and mind are developing, in an important period in which their life and world outlooks are forming. Once a crisis appears, they do not know what to do. So it will cause problems in psychology. How to reduce the negative sides caused by earthquake to minimum and how to rebuild their psycho-home after the earthquake are problems the colleges and universities should attach great importance to. Effective social support is helpful to individual physical and psychological, to provide the protection for individuals who on the state of the pressure, and it is plays the cushioning effect to the pressure. Social support also has the important meaning to maintain the good emotional experience. Based on the research literature of social support, choosing a random sample of 530 university students of Chengdu University of Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology, West China Academy of Art University and the Sichuan Conservatory of Music , using Social Support Rate Scale and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES - D).The researcher summarizes social support status of college students'psychological rebuilding after earthquake, and make an exploratory analysis on correlation between social support and depression on undergraduates. This study is mainly to understand the social support situation of college students'psychological rebuilding after earthquake by demonstration. It also discusses and makes comparisons different types of social support for college students. According to present situation of social support for college students and practical experience from college students'psychological rebuilding, we construct a social support system for college students'psychological rebuilding, in which government support is the main channel, school support is the basic way, family support is the basis and personal support is the foundation.
