The History Of The Fashion Of The Female Middle Class In Morden China

Under the impact of the reform and opening up, China's social environment has undergone enormous changes, which led to the reformulation of China's social structure. Modern Chinese middle class came into being in the early 90s. This new emerging class with higher educational level and considerable spending power drove the development of modern Chinese fashion industry, and is becoming the backbone of the development of modern Chinese fashion. Therefore, the study of modern Chinese middle class fashion development history is an important basis for China's fashion study.In this paper, we mainly aim at the female middle class, use "Cosmopolitan" magazine as a case study, analyze the development of the modern Chinese female fashion in three different phases, and manage to find the hidden driving force of the development. Through the phase-by-phase analysis, we reach the final conclusion that - the value system of the Western fashion is the main reason for the development and changes of the female middle class in China. The development of China's middle class women in fashion shows a kind of passive, unified development situation. However, with the progress of Chinese society and the maturation of the middle class, the situation has changed. The fashion of female middle class in china is moving towards to a wide range of development directions, regaining the initiative and taking in charge.
