With the development of higher education and military academy reform,"joined undergraduated education cultivation & separated profession education cultivation"has become one of the main personnel cultivation model for the military academy. At present, those Concentrating-training Cadets graduated from this model have gradually formed the main parts of the whole military cadets. This paper takes various kinds of research methods such as literature investigation, questionaire survey, multivariate variance analysis and interview and so on, to survey and analyze the performance of these Concentrating-training Cadets. The results are not so optimistic. Through analyzing, their poor performance is mainly affected by their poor personality traits such as poor ability in communication, leadership and perseverance.Pointing at the status quo of their personality traits, this paper applies Cattell's 16 Personality Factors Questionaire (16 PF) to test the Concentrating-training Cadets from 5 different military academies who will graduate soon. And then, campare their scores with the military officer norm. Finally, this paper chooses the multivariate variance analysis to analyze the influence of six-pair factors. The conclusions are as follows:1. The 16 PF scores of these cadets are in the middle (from 3 to 7) with no morbid personality. But the scores also show that their scores on factor B (4.11±1.22) and factor Q1 (4.13±0.08) are relatively low, and factor O (6.62±0.86) is higher.2. Compared with the military officer norm, there are significant differences between the scores and the norm (P<0.05), which means that these cadets are far from the expected officers in the aspect of personality traits.3. Different kinds of Concentrating-training Cadets show significant differences (P<0.05), which shows the imbalanced development of personality traits among different kinds of cadets. Based on the conclusion, this paper puts some suggestions from 2 aspects including higher education and management in order to help cultivate good personality traits of military cadets and improve the Concentrating-training Cadets'ability for their first assignment.
