Research On The Status Of Engineering Students' Political Consciousness And Its Countermeasures

China's colleges and universities train hundreds of millions of engineering and technical personnel annually who play an important roll in national construction. Their political consciousness would affect the democracy in China and the future of China's society, also concerning the socialist cause's success or failure.The thesis is to grasp the status of engineering students'political consciousness, to analyze on the factors of engineering students'political consciousness, to guide engineering students made proper political consciousness, to improve the appropriateness and pragmaticality of political consciousness education among engineering students.Using questionnaires and individual interviews, this thesis studies on the engineering students'current status of political consciousness from three perspectives such as political cognition, political attitudes and political believes. It shows that most of the engineering students have positive political consciousness, but there are also some deep-seated problems.This thesis put forward four measures on how to effectively guide engineering students to produce proper political consciousness:Firstly, break with the conventional ideas and regard young college students with the view of historical materialism. Secondly, value the leading role of theory, strengthen and improve modern political education among engineering students. Thirdly, innovate the carriers of developing engineering students'political consciousness, construct new university campus culture to meet the requirements of the times. Lastly, Promote social practice vigorously, build the platform of social contact for engineering students to cultivate and improve their abilities of social and political participation.
