| After the Reform and Open Policy in 1978, great changes have been made in our middle school education. Our middle school education has taken the new developing path which shows it pays more attention to quality and benefit. In such a situation, the middle school management is facing a huge challenge to innovate its system in order to improve itself and fit with the development of the middle school education. As we know, the principal is the key of the middle school management. So improving the stuff of the principal will be in favor of improving the middle school management in high degree.And improving the stuff must begin from the process of selecting the principal, that is to say, the appointing system of the principal must be reformed and the selection system of the principal must be carried out in more districts. This research explored the problem of the present selection system of the principal in middle school and tried to find out the reasons. And then, this research gave some measures about improving the selection system.The research shows that there are six problems of the present selection system of the principal in middle school. They are that all the members of the screening committee come from the educational branch of local government; the selection criteria is in a low level and it is not explicit enough; the selection criteria is short of some required qualification; the screening procedure is short of some essential steps; the screening process is short of the participation of teachers and parents; the screening process is short of technical supervision.And then the research went deep into these problems to find out what the reasons is. Finally, according to the reasons, it gave some measures about improving the selection system on condition that it followed the guide of human resource management theory and power transfer theory, restricted the developing rule of the selection system of the principal in middle school in China and used the experience of carrying out the selection system of the principal in middle school in western country for reference. These measures were given by different members of the screening committee so that these measures can be applied to improve the selection system easily.All in all, the author hopes the research can be in favor of perfecting the selection system of the principal in middle school with Chinese characteristics. |
