Objective:Excellent physical and mental health is an important guarantee to adapt to social competition. Normal School Students, as a unique group of university students, are responsible for shaping thought and soul of the next generation after graduation, so their own mental health should be aroused great attention. This study investigated Normal School Students mental health and physical education status in Hunan province, analyzed the importance of Physical Education in Mental Health Education. To physical education as a carrier corresponding countermeasures, To improve the mental health level of normal students provide the theoretical basis.Methods:Select Hunan Normal University, Hengyang Normal University and Hunan First Normal College students, a total of 2,400, with SCL-90 scale and Sports Feeling Scale conducted a questionnaire survey, investigated Normal school students'mental health status, psychological effects and psychological feeling after exercise.Results:(1) SCL-90 scores showed, hunan Normal College Students psychosis, depression, anxiety scores higher than the national adult norm (p<0.01), anxiety scores higher than the national undergraduate level (p <0.01); Girls forced, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, terror, diet and other factors were higher than boys (p<0.05); Mental Health Status existed grade difference, the worst were first-year students; and between boys and girls in all grades, the mental health status varied significantly.(2) Status of Physical Education in Hunan Normal University survey shows serious shortage of physical education teachers, teaching content arrangements obsolete, boring, conservative concept of teaching, lack of physical education facilities construction.(3) Status of the student survey feel exercise,males feeling refreshed sense, quiet feeling, a sense of active participation, EFI scores and other scores were significantly higher than females (p<0.05); sense of active participation of scores of the second and third year students y higher than first-year students (p<0.01).Conclusions and Recommendations:(1) The mental health of Hunan Normal school students exist certain problems, typical symptoms is obvious anxiety. After the system physical education, physical exercise, the sense of spirits and other psychological factors improved significantly positive in all students, indicating that the Teachers College of Physical Education on improving the mental health of college students have a positive impact.(2) For the current normal students Mental Health and Physical Education,this study suggests that changes in teachers and students sports concept, reform the teaching physical education curriculum, strengthen the construction of hardware facilities, and other aspects,Physical education effective integration of mental health educatiori,for Physical Education promoting Mental Health development to provide advice.
