Since 1980's, the high sex ration at birth has been gradually evolved into a complex and serious social problem, in China the sex ratio at birth is 108.5 through Third National Census data, and it has been become 118.58 in 2005 from 2005 1% Population Sample Survey Data, and the sex ratio at birth has been a serious departure from the scope of the normal range.To address this problem of the situation of the high and long sex ratio at birth, this article does a deep-rooted study on it in our country on gender as a research perspective. First of all, the article describes the existence form of gender differences from the view of the economic, political and the field of marriage-family, and it explains the problem with a focus on an analysis of the high sex ration at birth caused by preference for boys; and then it analyzes the impact of the gender difference on the high sex ratio at birth, and it draws a conclusion that the high sex ratio at birth is mainly due to gender differences in society; finally, it analyzes the affects of high sex ratio at birth for women.To sum up, there are many reasons causing the high sex ratio at birth, but from this article, it emphasizes that the gender differences is the main reason for it, and it determined the development trend of sex ratio at birth, other reasons such as economic, policy, technical reasons as secondary reasons.
