Study On Determinants Of China's Energy Efficiency And Environment In Energy-intensive And Polluting Industries

"Energy conservation and emission reduction" is the outline of China's "11th five-year" plan, and the urgent need to address the climate. The target of "Energy conservation and emission reduction" is to change the economic growth mode that our country has been followed in the past decades. The main object of the plan is the energy and the environment. Energy and environment is the main research contents of the macroeconomic environment accounting, and they also influence each other. So the study of China's energy and environmental sustainable development is meaningful.Based on the current research of energy efficiency and environmental, it is found that the study is all about the national economy accounting or regional business accounting, but no specific industry. The energy and the environment are separated instead of researching as a whole. They are the main research contents of the macro environment of accounting. Therefore this paper selects the ten "Energy-Intensive and Polluting" industries as the research object. Analysis and research the data in these ten industries from 2001 to 2007 to find the influence factors of the energy efficiency and pollutant factors. The main conclusion is:First, the influence factors of energy efficiency are the structure of energy, technology and the price. The technological progress has played a role in energy efficiency in China, also is the country economy. Coal is still the main energy in China. In some industry, the efficiency of coal is higher such as the textile. Increasing these industries'share, the efficiency of coal will be improved.Secondly, in the pollutants equation, exhaust emissions are mainly affected by the scale effect. The influence factors of wastewater and solid waste are not obvious. It shows that environmental regulation in our country is not enough.Finally, in the energy and environmental equation, the consumption of coal is the main reason of exhaust. But in the other two equations, the main influencing factors are not proved as the consumption of energy.Through the above analysis, it is proved the technical progress play a big role in improving energy efficiency. Now what need to do is to adjust the energy structure, and control the key industries.
